Meaningless (album)

Meaningless is a 2009 studio album by the American rock band Dag Nasty, released on Revelation Records. It marked the band's reunion after a lengthy period of inactivity and featured the lineup of vocalist Shawn Brown, guitarists Brian Baker and Peter Cortner, bassist Doug Carrion, and drummer Colin Sears.

The album's title, Meaningless, is often interpreted as a commentary on the band's place in the music scene after such a considerable hiatus, or perhaps a self-deprecating jab at the perceived importance (or lack thereof) of their return. Musically, the album retains the melodic hardcore sound Dag Nasty is known for, but incorporates elements of mature songwriting and diverse influences, reflecting the members' individual musical explorations during their time apart.

Meaningless was generally well-received by critics and fans, with many praising the band's ability to capture the energy and spirit of their earlier work while showcasing musical growth. Some critics noted a more nuanced approach to songwriting compared to their previous albums. Despite the positive reception, the album did not achieve significant commercial success.

The album's tracklist includes songs such as "Want", "Ghosts", "Thin", "Incinerate", and "Average Girl".
