May Hill (horse)
May Hill was a British Thoroughbred racehorse foaled in 1918. She was a chestnut filly sired by Bayardo, a prominent stallion and racehorse of his time, out of the mare Jenny Howlet. May Hill is primarily known for winning the 1921 Epsom Oaks. Trained by Alec Taylor Jr. at Manton, she was owned by Sir William Nelson.
Her Oaks victory was considered a significant achievement, solidifying her place in racing history. While not a prolific winner beyond the Oaks, May Hill remained a noteworthy racehorse due to the prestige associated with that classic race. Details of her racing career beyond the Oaks are limited, but her name is still recognized within pedigree records and historical accounts of British racing. She was not considered one of the truly great fillies of her era but secured her fame through her single classic victory.
