Matthew Wood (sound editor)
Matthew Wood is an American sound editor, best known for his extensive work on the Star Wars franchise.
Wood joined Lucasfilm in 1991 and has served in various sound editing and supervising sound editor roles on numerous films, television series, and video games. He is a long-time sound editor for Skywalker Sound.
His notable contributions include significant roles in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and The Mandalorian. He has also worked on films outside the Star Wars universe.
Wood has been nominated for multiple Academy Awards for Best Sound Editing (previously known as Best Sound Effects Editing), winning the award for his work on Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. In addition to his Oscar wins, he has received several other awards and nominations recognizing his contributions to the field of sound design.
