Mark Solomon (rabbi)
Mark Solomon (born August 2, 1955) is a British Reform rabbi, writer, and academic. He served as rabbi of the South London Liberal Synagogue from 1984 until his retirement in 2019.
Solomon is known for his work in interfaith dialogue, particularly with Christians and Muslims. He holds degrees from Oxford University and the Leo Baeck College, London. His rabbinic thesis focused on the ethical thought of Rabbi Elijah Benamozegh.
He has written extensively on Jewish theology, ethics, and liturgy, and has contributed to several prominent publications, including "Forms of Prayer: A New English Translation," a Reform prayer book. His work often addresses contemporary issues from a liberal Jewish perspective. He continues to write and teach following his retirement from the South London Liberal Synagogue.
