Sergio Sánchez (footballer, born 1986)
Sergio Sánchez Ortega (born 3 April 1986) is a Spanish retired professional footballer who primarily played as a central defender.
Sánchez began his career with RCD Espanyol, graduating from their youth academy. He made his La Liga debut for the club in 2007. He later played for Real Madrid, although he did not make any official appearances for the first team, spending time on loan at Racing Santander.
After a spell at Málaga CF, he joined Sevilla FC in 2009, where he experienced significant success, winning the Copa del Rey in 2010. He then transferred to Panathinaikos in Greece.
His later career included stints with Rubin Kazan in Russia, Málaga CF again, and finally Cádiz CF in Spain before retiring. Sánchez also represented Spain at the under-21 level.
