Mantrap (1926 film)
Mantrap is a 1926 American silent romantic comedy-drama film directed by Victor Fleming and starring Clara Bow, Ernest Torrence, and Percy Marmont. Based on the novel Mantrap by Sinclair Lewis, the film tells the story of a flirtatious manicurist from New York City who unexpectedly finds herself in a remote Canadian wilderness town and becomes embroiled in a love triangle between a gruff trapper and a sophisticated lawyer.
The film is known for its portrayal of Bow as a vibrant and independent woman, and for its depiction of the contrasting lifestyles of urban and rural America. Although now considered a classic of the silent era, it was initially met with mixed reviews.
