Luděk Pernica (decathlete)

Luděk Pernica (born January 16, 1962) is a retired Czech decathlete who represented Czechoslovakia and later the Czech Republic. He competed in the decathlon at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, finishing 17th. He also competed in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, where he finished 22nd. Pernica's personal best in the decathlon is 8256 points, achieved in 1988. He was a multiple-time national champion in the decathlon for Czechoslovakia. He remains involved in athletics as a coach.
