Louise Campbell (designer)
Louise Campbell (born 1970) is a Danish designer known for her furniture, lighting, and interior design work. Her designs are often characterized by their playful, experimental, and sculptural qualities. Campbell graduated from the London College of Furniture in 1992 and established her own studio in Copenhagen in 1996.
Campbell's design philosophy emphasizes a human-centric approach, prioritizing function and emotional connection in her work. She often draws inspiration from nature, employing organic forms and unexpected materials. Her design process involves exploring various prototypes and challenging conventional norms, leading to innovative and distinctive solutions.
Throughout her career, Campbell has collaborated with renowned Danish and international design companies, including Louis Poulsen, Hay, and Royal Copenhagen. Her notable designs include the Campbell Pendant lamp for Louis Poulsen, the Prince chair for HAY, and various tableware collections for Royal Copenhagen.
Campbell's work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the IF Product Design Award, the Danish Design Award, and the Red Dot Design Award. Her designs are represented in the permanent collections of museums worldwide. She is also known for her involvement in design education, teaching and lecturing at various institutions.
