Loose (Crazy Horse album)
Loose is the ninth studio album by the rock band Crazy Horse, released in 1972. It is notable for being the first album released solely under the Crazy Horse name, without the direct involvement of Neil Young, although he did make contributions. The album showcases the band's raw, hard-rocking sound and features several tracks written by various members of the band, including Danny Whitten, Billy Talbot, and Ralph Molina. While not as commercially successful as Crazy Horse albums featuring Neil Young, Loose is considered a significant album in the band's discography, demonstrating their independent musical identity and capabilities. The album's sound is characterized by heavy guitar riffs, straightforward rock arrangements, and emotionally charged vocals. It is viewed by some as a foundational album for the development of the "Crazy Horse sound" that would continue to evolve throughout their career.
