Live Without a Net (album)

Live Without a Net is a live album by the American hard rock band Van Halen, released in 1986. The album was recorded during Van Halen's 1986 tour supporting their 5150 album, which was the first album to feature Sammy Hagar on vocals, replacing David Lee Roth.

The album's title is a reference to the band's high-energy, improvisational style of performance, often described as taking risks without a safety net. The recordings capture the raw energy and excitement of Van Halen's live shows during this period.

Live Without a Net features performances of both classic Van Halen songs from the David Lee Roth era, such as "Panama," "Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love," and "Jump," as well as newer material from the 5150 album, including "Why Can't This Be Love" and "Dreams." The album also includes Eddie Van Halen's signature guitar solo, "Eruption."

The album was released simultaneously on vinyl, cassette, and VHS. The VHS release featured the entire concert, while the audio versions were edited down to fit the available media. Live Without a Net was a commercial success, reaching the top 25 on the Billboard 200 chart and being certified platinum by the RIAA.
