Lipstick (TV series)
Lipstick was an American comedy-drama television series that aired on NBC during the 2008 season. Created by DeAnn Heline and Eileen Heisler, the show followed three ambitious, high-powered women navigating their careers and personal lives in New York City's competitive business world.
The series starred Brooke Shields as Wendy Healy, a CEO of a major magazine; Kim Raver as Nico Reilly, a magazine editor with aspirations of leadership; and Lindsay Price as Victory Ford, a fashion designer struggling to revitalize her brand. Each episode typically explored the challenges they faced in balancing their professional ambitions with their romantic relationships, family commitments, and friendships.
Lipstick was inspired by the novel "Lipstick Jungle" by Candace Bushnell, who also served as an executive producer on the series. Despite initial promotion and a strong premise, the show received mixed reviews and struggled in the ratings. NBC canceled Lipstick after two seasons, consisting of 20 episodes. The series is remembered for its focus on female empowerment and its exploration of the complexities of women's roles in modern society.
