Lego Znap
Lego Znap was a line of Lego construction toys introduced in 1998 and discontinued in 2003. Unlike traditional Lego bricks that connect with studs, Lego Znap elements connected using pins and holes. This allowed for the creation of models with greater flexibility and more complex geometries than traditional Lego systems.
The system's core components were rigid plastic beams of various lengths and shapes, as well as flexible connectors that allowed for pivot points and angled connections. These pieces could be combined to create strong, lightweight structures. Znap sets often focused on building vehicles, furniture, and other everyday objects.
One of the key aims of the Znap line was to appeal to an older audience than traditional Lego, offering a more challenging and sophisticated building experience. While innovative, the system ultimately failed to gain widespread popularity and was discontinued after a relatively short run. The unique connecting method meant Znap was not easily integrated with other Lego lines, potentially limiting its appeal to dedicated Lego enthusiasts.
