Lacs de Maclu
The Lacs de Maclu (Maclu Lakes) are a set of two lakes located in the Jura Mountains of France, specifically within the Jura department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. The two lakes are Grand Maclu (large Maclu) and Petit Maclu (small Maclu).
The Lacs de Maclu are notable for their scenic beauty and ecological significance. They are situated near the Lac d'Ilay and Lac de Narlay, forming part of a larger lake district within the region. These lakes are of glacial origin, carved out during past ice ages, which contributes to their distinct characteristics and geological context.
The lakes and their surrounding area are popular destinations for outdoor recreation, including hiking, swimming, and fishing. The area supports diverse flora and fauna, and conservation efforts are in place to protect the natural environment of the Lacs de Maclu.
