La verdad, also known internationally as The Truth, is a Spanish mystery thriller television series that premiered on Telecinco on May 7, 2018, and concluded on July 9, 2018. Produced by Plano a Plano, the series stars Elena Rivera, Jon Kortajarena, and Lydia Bosch.
Synopsis:
The series revolves around Paula García (Elena Rivera), a young woman who reappears after being presumed dead for eight years. Kidnapped at the age of nine, her return to her family and community in Santander is met with suspicion and skepticism. Marcos Eguía (Jon Kortajarena), a police officer, is tasked with investigating her case and determining whether she is truly Paula or an imposter. As Marcos delves deeper into the mystery, he uncovers a web of secrets, lies, and hidden agendas that threaten to unravel the lives of everyone involved. The investigation forces Marcos to confront his own past and challenge his beliefs. Meanwhile, Paula struggles to reintegrate into a family and society that have moved on without her, grappling with the trauma of her abduction and the uncertainty of her true identity. Lidia McMahón (Lydia Bosch) plays Paula's mother, a prominent and influential woman who is fiercely protective of her family and determined to uncover the truth behind her daughter's disappearance and reappearance.
