Koya Dam
Koya Dam is a concrete gravity dam located on the Urayama River in the Saitama Prefecture of Japan. Its primary purpose is flood control and water supply for the Tokyo metropolitan area. Construction of the dam was completed in 1969. The dam creates a reservoir known as Lake Urayama. The height of the dam is approximately 156 meters, making it one of the tallest dams in Japan. The dam is managed and operated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT). The surrounding area features recreational facilities, including walking trails and viewpoints.
