Kids See Ghosts (album)
Kids See Ghosts is a collaborative studio album by American hip hop duo of the same name, composed of Kanye West and Kid Cudi. It was released on June 8, 2018, through GOOD Music and Def Jam Recordings. It is the namesake of the duo's group and served as West's eighth studio album and Cudi's seventh.
The album was initially announced as part of a series of seven-track albums produced by Kanye West in 2018, following Pusha T's Daytona. It explores themes of mental health, spirituality, and overcoming personal demons. Musically, Kids See Ghosts incorporates elements of hip hop, rock, psychedelic, and electronic music, drawing influence from artists such as Kurt Cobain and Louis Prima.
The album features guest appearances from Pusha T, Yasiin Bey (Mos Def), and Ty Dolla Sign. Production was primarily handled by West, along with contributions from Dot da Genius, André 3000, and others. The album was preceded by no official singles, though tracks from the album charted following its release.
Kids See Ghosts received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised its experimental sound, thematic depth, and the chemistry between West and Cudi. It debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart.
