Kenny Rogers (baseball)
Kenny Rogers (born November 10, 1964) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1989 to 2008, primarily as a left-handed starting pitcher.
Rogers played for the Texas Rangers (twice), Montreal Expos, Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, Oakland Athletics, Minnesota Twins, and New York Mets. He was a four-time MLB All-Star (1995, 2004, 2005, 2006) and a five-time Gold Glove Award winner (2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006).
A notable accomplishment in Rogers' career was pitching a perfect game for the Texas Rangers on July 28, 1994, against the California Angels.
Throughout his career, Rogers was known for his durability and ability to pitch effectively into his 40s. He amassed over 200 career wins and 2,000 strikeouts. He retired after the 2008 season.
