Kenneth Mitchell (actor)

Kenneth Mitchell (November 24, 1974 – February 24, 2024) was a Canadian actor. He was known for his diverse roles in television and film, encompassing science fiction, drama, and action genres.

Mitchell garnered significant recognition for his portrayal of several Klingon characters, including Kol, Kol-Sha, and Tenavik, in the CBS All Access (later Paramount+) series Star Trek: Discovery. His performance in this role showcased his versatility and dedication to inhabiting distinct characters within a well-established franchise.

Prior to Star Trek: Discovery, Mitchell appeared in numerous television series, including Jericho, where he played Eric Green, a pivotal character in the post-apocalyptic drama. He also held recurring and guest roles in series such as Ghost Whisperer, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, NCIS, and Switched at Birth.

In 2020, Mitchell publicly disclosed his diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Despite his diagnosis and the challenges it presented, he continued to work, often utilizing a wheelchair. He remained active in the acting community and a strong advocate for ALS awareness.
