Kelly Cup
The Kelly Cup is the championship trophy awarded annually to the playoff champion of the ECHL (formerly the East Coast Hockey League). The trophy is named after Patrick J. Kelly, the founding commissioner of the ECHL, who served in that role for its first eight seasons, from 1988 to 1996. The Kelly Cup Finals determine the winner of the ECHL playoffs, typically a best-of-seven series. The winning team receives the Kelly Cup to display and celebrate with. The trophy is a physical representation of the league championship, signifying the culmination of the ECHL season. The Kelly Cup has become synonymous with ECHL supremacy and is a highly coveted prize for teams within the league.
