Julian Knight (politician)

Julian Knight (born January 1972) is a British Conservative Party politician. He was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Solihull from 2015 to 2024.

Knight was educated at Durham University, where he studied history. Prior to entering Parliament, he worked as a financial journalist and personal finance expert, contributing to various media outlets.

He was first elected to the House of Commons in the 2015 general election, succeeding Lorely Burt as the MP for Solihull. He was re-elected in 2017 and 2019.

During his time in Parliament, Knight served on a number of select committees, including the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee (DCMS), which he chaired from 2020 until 2023. He also served on the Treasury Committee.

In December 2022, Knight had the Conservative whip withdrawn following a complaint made to the police. He sat as an independent MP for the remainder of his term. Knight did not stand for re-election in the 2024 general election.
