Joyeuse (river)

The Joyeuse is a small river in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of southwestern France. It is a tributary of the Bidouze, which in turn flows into the Adour river.

The Joyeuse's source is located in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains. It flows generally northwest through the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department. The river is relatively short, with a length of approximately 22 kilometers (14 miles).

The river's name, "Joyeuse," translates to "joyful" or "merry" in French. It is known for its clear waters and the surrounding picturesque countryside. The Joyeuse is primarily used for agricultural irrigation and provides a habitat for various species of fish and wildlife.
