José Cusí
José Cusí (born circa 1935) is a prominent Spanish businessman and yachtsman. He is best known for his long association with the Spanish Royal Family, particularly King Juan Carlos I, and his involvement in yachting, including the design, construction, and racing of yachts.
Cusí played a significant role in promoting sailing in Spain and internationally. He commissioned and oversaw the creation of several notable yachts, often named "Bribón," which participated in prestigious regattas such as the Admiral's Cup and the Copa del Rey. These yachts were often at the forefront of yacht design and technology during their respective eras.
His relationship with King Juan Carlos extended beyond yachting, and Cusí was a long-time personal friend of the former monarch. His contributions to Spanish sailing and his close ties to the royal family have made him a well-known figure in Spanish society. While largely retired from active sailing management, his influence on the sport in Spain remains considerable.
