Jon Beare
Jon Beare (born June 10, 1974, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, died October 5, 2023) was a Canadian rower. He was best known for being a member of the Canadian lightweight coxless four team that won a bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
Beare began rowing at the University of Western Ontario and later joined the national team. He competed in several World Rowing Championships, achieving notable results before his Olympic success. Beyond his Olympic medal, his rowing career was marked by dedication and consistent performance at the international level.
Following his competitive rowing career, Beare remained involved in the sport, often mentoring younger athletes and contributing to the rowing community. He held a degree in engineering. He passed away suddenly at the age of 49.
