John Sinclair (bishop)
John Sinclair (died 1318) was a medieval Scottish clergyman. He served as Bishop of Brechin from 1296 until his death. Sinclair was a significant figure during the Wars of Scottish Independence, known for his staunch support of Scottish independence and his defiance of English authority. He notably resisted attempts by Edward I of England to control the Scottish Church. He was succeeded by Adam de Brechin. His date of birth is unknown.
