John Parry (American football official)
John Parry is a former American football official in the National Football League (NFL) from 2000 to 2018. He wore jersey number 13. Prior to his career as an NFL official, Parry was a referee in the Big Ten Conference.
During his NFL tenure, Parry worked as a side judge (2000-2006) and then as a referee (2007-2018). As a referee, he was the crew chief, responsible for overall game management and rules interpretation. He officiated several notable games, including Super Bowl XLVI between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots.
Following his retirement from officiating, Parry joined ESPN as a rules analyst, providing on-air explanations and interpretations of officiating calls during broadcasts. He is known for his calm demeanor and clear explanations of complex rules.
