Joël Sami
Joël Sami (born 25 December 1984) is a Congolese former professional footballer who played as a defender. He has represented the Democratic Republic of the Congo internationally.
Sami's career included spells at various clubs across Europe, including Amiens SC, Olympique de Marseille, US Orléans, AS Nancy, Standard Liège, and SV Zulte Waregem. He also played for clubs in England, such as Peterborough United, and in Thailand for Suphanburi.
He primarily played as a centre-back, known for his physical presence and defensive capabilities. While a consistent performer for several clubs, he did not achieve major trophy wins during his career.
Sami earned caps for the Democratic Republic of the Congo national team, participating in Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and other international matches. He retired from professional football in recent years.
