Jinusean
Jinusean (Korean: 지누션) was a South Korean hip hop duo formed in 1997 by YG Entertainment. The duo consisted of Kim Jin-woo (Jinu) and Noh Seung-hwan (Sean). They were one of the first hip hop groups to achieve mainstream success in South Korea, paving the way for future artists in the genre.
Jinusean debuted with the single "Gasoline" in 1997 and quickly gained popularity with their energetic performances and catchy songs. Their debut album, Jinusean, sold well and established them as a leading force in the Korean hip hop scene.
The duo released several successful albums throughout their career, including The Real (1998), Tell Me Once Again (2001), and The Reign (2004). Their music often featured collaborations with other YG Entertainment artists, such as Uhm Jung-hwa, Perry, and 1TYM.
Jinusean's music is characterized by its blend of hip hop beats, pop melodies, and Korean lyrics. Their songs often deal with themes of love, friendship, and social issues. They were known for their stage presence and ability to connect with audiences.
After a hiatus, Jinusean made a comeback in 2015 with the single "Tell Me One More Time," featuring Jang Hanna. The song was well-received, demonstrating the duo's lasting impact on the Korean music scene.
Both Jinu and Sean have also pursued individual projects and business ventures outside of Jinusean. However, they have continued to perform together occasionally and remain an important part of YG Entertainment's history. Sean is also well-known for his philanthropic work.
