Jim Morrison (baseball)
Jim Morrison (born December 26, 1952) is a former Major League Baseball infielder. He played primarily as a third baseman and second baseman.
Morrison was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1st round (11th overall) of the 1973 MLB January Draft-Regular Phase from Brigham Young University. He played for the Phillies (1977-1978), Chicago White Sox (1979-1983), Pittsburgh Pirates (1983-1985), and Atlanta Braves (1985).
During his career, Morrison was known as a solid defensive player. He did not have exceptional offensive power, but was a consistent hitter. He was part of the Pittsburgh Pirates team that won the World Series in 1979, although he was not on the postseason roster. His career ended after the 1985 season.
