Jim Mooney (baseball)

James Michael "Jim" Mooney (born March 27, 1958) is a former professional baseball player. He played as a pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the California Angels in 1983 and 1984.

Mooney was drafted by the Angels in the 8th round of the 1979 MLB Draft out of Creighton University. Prior to his MLB career, he played in the minor leagues, working his way up through the Angels' farm system.

In his MLB career, Mooney appeared in 15 games, pitching a total of 23.2 innings. He recorded a 5.32 earned run average (ERA) and a 0-0 win-loss record. Following his playing career, Mooney remained involved in baseball, working as a coach and scout.
