Sobieski (vodka)
Sobieski is a Polish vodka produced by Sobieski S.A., a subsidiary of Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits. It is named after John III Sobieski, the King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania from 1674 to 1696, famous for leading the victorious relief of Vienna in 1683 against the Ottoman Empire.
Sobieski vodka is distilled from Dankowski rye. It is known for being a relatively inexpensive, yet well-regarded vodka, particularly within its price range. Sobieski is widely available in numerous countries, including the United States and throughout Europe.
The vodka is typically produced with a 40% alcohol by volume (ABV) content (80 proof). Flavored versions of Sobieski vodka are also available, featuring various fruit and other natural flavors. These flavored vodkas often have a slightly lower ABV content.
Sobieski S.A. produces and distributes other spirits and alcoholic beverages, but the Sobieski vodka remains its most recognizable and widely distributed product. The brand's marketing often emphasizes its Polish heritage and connection to the historical figure of King John III Sobieski.
