Jim Bush
Jim Bush (born James F. Bush) is a retired American track and field coach, best known for his long and successful tenure at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He coached the Bruins from 1984 to 2004, during which time his teams won numerous national championships, including three NCAA Men's Track and Field titles (1987, 1988, 1993).
Prior to his time at UCLA, Bush coached at Ventura College, where he also achieved considerable success, developing many athletes who went on to compete at the Division I level.
Throughout his career, Bush coached several Olympic and world-class athletes, specializing in sprints, hurdles, and relays. His athletes have included Olympians such as Danny Everett, Kevin Young, and Mike Marsh. He is highly regarded for his technical expertise, training methods, and ability to motivate athletes.
Following his retirement from UCLA, Bush continued to be involved in the sport, serving as a consultant and mentor to other coaches and athletes. He is considered one of the most influential track and field coaches in American history.
