New Warriors (TV pilot)

New Warriors was an unaired American superhero comedy television pilot based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. The pilot was developed for Freeform and intended to be the first episode of a ten-episode first season. It was created by Kevin Biegel, who also served as showrunner, and starred Milana Vayntrub, Jeremy Tardy, Callum Worthy, Matthew Moy, Kate Comer, and Derek Theler.

The series would have focused on six young people with powers living and working together as heroes, but not quite ready for the big leagues. The team consisted of Squirrel Girl (Vayntrub), Night Thrasher (Tardy), Speedball (Worthy), Microbe (Moy), Debrii (Comer), and Mister Immortal (Theler).

The pilot was filmed in 2017, but Freeform ultimately passed on the series. Marvel Television attempted to find a new home for the show, including potentially on Disney+, but it was eventually shelved in September 2019. No further episodes were produced beyond the pilot. The completed pilot has not been officially released to the public.
