Rigomagno
Rigomagno is a small medieval hilltop village located in the municipality of Sinalunga, in the province of Siena, Tuscany, Italy. It is situated approximately 10 kilometers (6 miles) southeast of Sinalunga itself. The village is characterized by its intact medieval architecture, including fortified walls, a main gate (Porta Senese), and narrow, winding streets.
Historically, Rigomagno served as a defensive outpost due to its strategic elevated position. The village's origins can be traced back to the Etruscan period, although its significant development occurred during the Middle Ages. It was a subject of contention between Siena and Florence, eventually falling under Florentine control.
Today, Rigomagno is a largely agricultural village with a small population.
