Jim Arnold (American football)
Jim Arnold (born January 17, 1961) is a former American football punter who played in the National Football League (NFL) for twelve seasons.
Career:
Arnold played college football at Michigan State University, where he was a two-time All-American. He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round of the 1983 NFL Draft.
Arnold played for the Chiefs (1983-1985), Detroit Lions (1986-1993) and Miami Dolphins (1994). He was a three-time Pro Bowl selection (1987, 1988, 1990) and a two-time All-Pro selection (1987, 1988). Arnold led the NFL in punting average in 1987 and 1988. He also led the NFC in punting average in 1987, 1988 and 1990.
Known for his directional punting skills, Arnold consistently pinned opponents deep in their own territory. He retired after the 1994 season.
