Jacob Miller (baseball)
Jacob Miller is a professional baseball pitcher currently in the Cleveland Guardians organization. He was drafted by the Miami Marlins in the third round of the 2021 Major League Baseball draft out of Liberty High School in Freedom, Wisconsin.
Prior to being drafted, Miller was committed to play college baseball at the University of Louisville. He gained attention from scouts due to his fastball, which reaches the mid-90s mph, and his potential for further development. Following his selection by the Marlins, he signed with the team, receiving a significant signing bonus.
In July 2023, Miller was traded to the Cleveland Guardians along with outfielder Jake Berry in exchange for veteran infielder Josh Bell. He is currently progressing through the Guardians' minor league system, working on refining his secondary pitches and improving his command. Miller is considered a prospect with the potential to contribute to the Guardians' major league roster in the future. His player profile often highlights his arm strength and the projectable nature of his overall pitching arsenal.
