Jack Thompson (actor)
Jack Thompson (born John Hadley Payne, August 31, 1940) is an Australian actor, known for his roles in Australian New Wave films such as Breaker Morant, Sunday Too Far Away, The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith, and The Man from Snowy River. He is a prominent figure in the Australian film industry and has also worked in Hollywood productions.
Early Life and Education:
Thompson was born in Manly, New South Wales. He was orphaned at a young age and raised by a foster family. He was educated at the University of Queensland, where he studied law. He served in the Australian Army Reserve before pursuing his acting career.
