John Ireland (writer)
John Ireland (August 30, 1879 – March 15, 1962) was an English journalist, author, and translator. He is primarily known for his works on French history and culture, and for his translations of French literature into English.
Ireland was born in Manchester and educated at Manchester Grammar School and Balliol College, Oxford. He began his career as a journalist and later devoted himself to writing books.
