Júlio César Soares de Espíndola, commonly known as Júlio César, is a retired Brazilian professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Born on September 3, 1979, in Duque de Caxias, Rio de Janeiro, he is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers of his generation.

Júlio César began his professional career with Flamengo in Brazil, where he quickly established himself as a top talent. His performances attracted attention from European clubs, and in 2005, he joined Inter Milan.

At Inter Milan, Júlio César achieved significant success, becoming a key player in their dominant era under manager José Mourinho. He won five Serie A titles (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010), three Coppa Italia titles (2006, 2010, 2011), and the UEFA Champions League in 2010. His outstanding saves and commanding presence in goal were crucial to Inter's success.
