Ivor Bueb
Ivor Bueb (1922 – 1 August 1959) was a British racing driver. Bueb was primarily known for his successes in sports car racing, particularly in Jaguar and Lotus machinery.
He began racing after serving in the Royal Navy during World War II. His early career involved hill climbs and sprints before transitioning to circuit racing.
Bueb achieved significant victories, including winning the 1955 RAC Tourist Trophy driving a Mercedes-Benz 300SLR alongside Stirling Moss. He also secured outright victory at the 1957 24 Hours of Le Mans partnered with Ron Flockhart in an Ecurie Ecosse Jaguar D-Type. He was a regular competitor in Formula One, though without achieving major success in the world championship.
Ivor Bueb's racing career was tragically cut short when he died in August 1959 following an accident at the Formula Two race at Clermont-Ferrand in France.
