Islahuddin (field hockey)
Islahuddin Siddique (born January 10, 1948) is a former Pakistani field hockey player. He is regarded as one of the finest right wingers in the history of the sport.
Islahuddin captained the Pakistan national field hockey team that won the 1978 Hockey World Cup in Buenos Aires. He also represented Pakistan at the 1972 Munich Olympics, where the team won a silver medal, the 1976 Montreal Olympics, where they won a bronze medal, and the 1971 and 1975 Hockey World Cups.
After retiring from playing, Islahuddin served as a coach and manager of the Pakistan national team on several occasions. He also held administrative positions within the Pakistan Hockey Federation. He is known for his tactical acumen and contribution to the development of field hockey in Pakistan. He received the Pride of Performance award from the Government of Pakistan in recognition of his services to the sport.
