Innocent (2011 film)

Innocent is a 2011 American legal thriller television film directed by Mike Robe and starring Alfred Molina, Marcia Gay Harden, and Bill Pullman. It is based on the 2010 novel of the same name by Scott Turow, a sequel to his 1987 novel Presumed Innocent.

The film follows Rusty Sabich (played by Pullman), who, years after being acquitted in the murder of his mistress Carolyn Polhemus in Presumed Innocent, is once again implicated in a crime when his wife Barbara (played by Harden) is found dead. The film explores themes of guilt, innocence, infidelity, and the complexities of the justice system. Molina plays Alejandro "Sandy" Stern, Sabich's longtime friend and defense attorney, reprising the role he played in the 1990 film adaptation of Presumed Innocent.

Innocent aired as a two-part miniseries on TNT in November 2011. It received mixed reviews, with some critics praising the performances of the lead actors, particularly Molina, and others criticizing the plot as convoluted and less compelling than the original novel and its film adaptation.
