In Harm's Way (TV series)
In Harm's Way was a 1967 American television drama series that aired on CBS. It was based on the 1962 novel In Harm's Way by James Bassett and the subsequent 1965 film of the same name, although the series featured an entirely new cast of characters and storylines.
The series centered around the lives and experiences of U.S. Navy personnel stationed in the Pacific during World War II. Key characters included Captain Torrey (played by Stuart Whitman), Chief Nurse Lieutenant Maggie Hayes (played by Lilia Skala), and Ensign Jeremiah Torrey (played by Tom Adams), who was Captain Torrey's son.
Unlike the novel and film, the television series focused more on the interpersonal relationships and the day-to-day realities of wartime life, rather than large-scale naval battles. Episodes often explored themes of love, loss, courage, and the psychological impact of war.
In Harm's Way lasted for only one season, consisting of 26 episodes. It premiered in September 1967 and was cancelled in March 1968.
