Ibigawa
Ibigawa (揖斐川) is a major river in Japan, flowing through Gifu and Mie prefectures. It is one of the Kiso Three Rivers (木曽三川, Kiso Sansen), along with the Kiso River and the Nagara River, all of which empty into Ise Bay.
The Ibigawa River is known for its relatively clean water and is utilized for agriculture, industry, and drinking water. The Ibigawa Dam, located upstream, plays a significant role in flood control and hydroelectric power generation.
The river flows through several towns and cities, including Ibigawa Town in Gifu Prefecture, from which it derives its name. It is also a popular location for recreational activities such as fishing and kayaking. Historically, the Ibigawa has been important for transportation and irrigation in the region.
