Ian Hunter (Scottish footballer)
Ian Hunter (born 22 November 1960) is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a defender.
Hunter began his career with Motherwell, where he made over 100 league appearances. He then moved to Airdrieonians in 1985, playing there for two seasons before joining Hamilton Academical. At Hamilton, Hunter was a consistent presence in the team during their time in the Scottish Premier Division in the late 1980s. He later played for Clydebank and Dumbarton before retiring from professional football.
Hunter also had a brief spell as caretaker manager of Hamilton Academical.
