Llangovan

Llangovan is a village and community in Monmouthshire, Wales. It is located approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) north-west of Monmouth and 7 miles (11 km) south-east of Abergavenny.

The name "Llangovan" is derived from the Welsh "Llan" meaning church or enclosure, and "Govan," referring to Saint Govan, a 6th-century hermit. The village's church is dedicated to St. Govan.

Historically, Llangovan was an agricultural community. Modern-day Llangovan is primarily a residential area.

The community of Llangovan includes the villages of Llangovan, Cwmcarvan, and Penyclawdd.
