IV (Veruca Salt album)
IV is the fourth full-length studio album by the American alternative rock band Veruca Salt. It was released in 2006 on Sympathy for the Record Industry. This marked a significant shift in the band's lineup as it was the first album recorded after the departure of co-vocalist and guitarist Nina Gordon. The album predominantly features the songwriting and vocals of Louise Post, the remaining original member. IV showcases a more straightforward rock sound compared to some of the band's earlier, more layered and pop-influenced work. The album received mixed reviews, with some critics praising Post's songwriting and the band's energy, while others felt it lacked the dynamic interplay and vocal harmonies that defined Veruca Salt's earlier sound. Several tracks from IV were released as singles to promote the album.
