History2 (Canadian TV channel)

History2 was a Canadian English language Category B specialty channel owned by Corus Entertainment. It was a sister channel to History.

History2 focused on broadcasting historical documentaries, factual entertainment programming, and mini-series, often focusing on topics and periods not heavily covered by the main History channel. Programming often delved into more niche historical subjects and presented more in-depth explorations.

The channel was originally launched as History Television on September 1, 1997, under the ownership of Alliance Atlantis Communications. Following various ownership changes involving Canwest Global Communications and Shaw Media, it became a part of Corus Entertainment in 2016.

On September 1, 2018, History2 was rebranded as Crime + Investigation (stylized as Crime & Investigation), aligning it with other international channels under the same brand. The change marked a shift in programming focus towards true crime documentaries and related factual entertainment.
