Henry John Adeane (born 1833)
Henry John Adeane (born 1833) was a British politician and landowner. He served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Cambridgeshire from 1857 to 1865, and again from 1873 to 1880. He was a member of the Liberal Party.
Born on September 2, 1833, Adeane was the son of Henry John Adeane and the Hon. Catherine Judith Howard, daughter of the 2nd Earl of Wicklow. He was educated at Eton College and Trinity College, Cambridge.
Adeane was a significant landowner in Cambridgeshire, and his political career was largely based on this influence. He was a Justice of the Peace and a Deputy Lieutenant for the county. During his time in Parliament, he was involved in debates on agricultural issues and other matters affecting rural constituencies.
He married Lady Elizabeth Yorke, daughter of the 4th Earl of Hardwicke, in 1859. They had several children.
Henry John Adeane died in 1902. He is remembered as a representative of the landed gentry who played a significant role in Victorian politics.
