Henry Ashley (MP, born 1548)

Henry Ashley (1548 – 1628) was an English politician and Member of Parliament.

Ashley was born in Wimborne St Giles, Dorset, the son of Sir Henry Ashley and Catherine Basset. He entered Lincoln's Inn in 1568.

He served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Dorchester in 1586 and for Lyme Regis in 1589. He was also the High Sheriff of Dorset in 1592 and 1611.

He married Eleanor Uvedale, daughter of Sir William Uvedale of Horton, Dorset. They had several children, including Sir Henry Ashley, who also served as an MP.

Ashley died in 1628. His will was proved in 1629.
