Hedsor

Hedsor is a village and civil parish in Buckinghamshire, England. It is located on the south-western edge of the Chiltern Hills, about 2 miles west of Beaconsfield and 3 miles east of Marlow.

Historically, Hedsor was part of the Burnham Hundred. The name "Hedsor" is believed to derive from the Old English Hēdes ōra, meaning "Hede's bank" or "Hede's shore", suggesting a connection to a person named Hede and a riverbank or shore, possibly referring to the River Thames which forms part of the parish boundary.

Hedsor House, a grand stately home located within the parish, is a notable landmark. It has a long history and has been used as a location for numerous films and television programs. The house and its extensive grounds are privately owned and used for events and filming.

The parish church of St Nicholas is located in the village. It is a Grade II* listed building with parts dating back to the 12th century.

Economically, the area is largely rural with a mix of agricultural land and residential properties. Due to its proximity to London and major transport routes, Hedsor is also home to some commuters.
